I am a Master's graduate from Dublin. After a four-year Bachelor's in English, Media and Cultural Studies, my start in the world of writing began with print and online journalism, moving in to web content creation after my own personal move to New York City. Shortly after my return from NYC I decided to combine my love of working with children and writing by becoming a teacher. Here, crafting tales with beginner storytellers was a daily occurrence I counted my blessings to do. As much as helping these kids to put sentences together sensibly was a tremendous privilege, when I moved to Amsterdam I felt the desire to return to my own words-making. In the realm of marketing. Where I can keep my reader at the heart constantly, producing words that resonate, cut through the noise and get to the point.

Irish people are often guilty of selling themselves short, with self-promotion considered sinful. I think this has a certain power when it comes to writing: our self-deprecating nature is not an issue of cripplingly low self-esteem, but is instead a product of our humour and desire to always be completely relatable to the recipient of our words.  That's my secret weapon. Empathy. Slipping into the shoes of others is something I've needed to hone throughout all facets of my career – and I'd consider myself an expert now. My love of people, and bringing some sort of positive change for them, is what drives me in any work I do.

This site is a portfolio of sorts, but also a blog, as it traces the most significant milestones in my writing journey and profession.  It's a window into my experience, and into who I am.
